The most important thing a person can
to in this life is to come to the realization that there
is a God of the universe who has revealed Himself to us.
Not only must that realization be made but one must
listen to what God says and believe Him. Belief is
putting one's full assurance in Him. Please read the
facts God has given in His Word.
I. It is a fact that God exists.
For the
invisible things of him from the creation of the world
are clearly seen, being understood by the things that
are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so
that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)
But
without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
(Hebrews 11:6)
II. It is a fact that God has spoken to
man by giving us the Bible.
All
scripture is given by inspiration of God... (II
Timothy 3:16)
III. It is a fact that God loves us.
But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Herein
is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our
sins. (1 John 4:10)
IV. It is a fact that man, who is sinful
can't be with a holy God.
But as
he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all
manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye
holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:15-16)
For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans
3:23)
V.
It is a fact that disobeying God has its consequences.
For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans
6:23)
VI. It is a fact that Jesus Christ took
the punishment for man's sin to save him from eternal
punishment in hell.
But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to
death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1
Peter 3:18)
That if
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
VII. It is a fact that we must receive
God's gift of salvation.
9 That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10)
For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved. (Romans 10:13)
VIII. It is a fact that you need to
accept Jesus Christ as your Savior now while you can.
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time
accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured
thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold,
now is the day of salvation.) (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Now
that you have read what God says about salvation
read some more about this believing in God that He
encourages you to do. Life saving belief is more than
just knowing something in your head. Life saving belief
is being sure in your heart that God's word is true;
That it is true about His holiness, His love for us, our
sinfulness and Jesus taking the wages (punishment) for
our wrong doings (sins) so that we can be with God when
we do die. If you have never received God's gift of
salvation will you receive it now by acting on this new
belief in your heart. He is holy and you are unholy and
will be separated from Him and all that is good for all
eternity. You need a Savior and God has given you one,
Jesus Christ. Jesus took your sins and their punishment
and died for you. Why not ask him to forgive you for
your sins and tell him thanks that Jesus died for you.
